Kenya 2014
Jambo! Its time for my annual trip to Kenya!
And one of my big dreams is coming through this year.
With the help of Huub Thiessens and Nova Terra Group in Holland, I am shipping a FULL container of essential supplies this year.
So please clean out your closets, your basements and your garages and bring me “your stuff”.
I am collecting books to set up a library, school supplies, computers, gently used clothing, shoes, bicycles, games, blankets, towels, etc. etc.
I also need help with the clearing and delivery costs in Mombasa. I will arrange for a tax receipt for cash donations
Please contact me if you would like to donate either some items or cash.
The container is shipping out at the end of June so items must be received by June 25th
Dr. Victor Kireti and I are busy sorting and packing boxes again.
If you have any questions, please call or email me.
On behalf of all the children, thanks again for helping me realize one of my dream.

A few of the children are featured at the bottom of every month. If you would like to make a donation to any of our projects, please contact me. I will arrange for a tax receipt for donations over $20.00. Thank you for supporting the needy children of Flo’s Project Kenya. Flos Project Kenya 2014 calendar
My 2013 Journey to Kenya
Asante Sana! Merci Beaucoup! Thank you all very much!
Apart from a few glitches, I am happy to report that another successful trip is now in the books.
One look at the children’s smiles makes one forget about the long flight every time.
As I was alone this trip, I had a very flexible agenda.
So while I endured those 2 anxious weeks waiting for the shipment to arrive, I visited with Vila 16 Orphanage and Mwatate Home.

I came back to reality
It was a wonderful trip, as soon as I got comfortable there it was time to come home to reality.
I lived like an African Queen at Sarova Taita Hills Game Lodge. Everyone knew the lady from Canada who was helping the community.
I spent some quality time with the children at Mwatate Home and Villa 16 and got a better understanding of their needs.
The shipment arrived only a few days before I left, so my projects with the women and children are on hold until I can find someone to teach them how to make the mats etc.
Thanks to Willie, Patrick and the volunteers from Sarova Lodge and Lumo Wildlife Sanctuary, we sorted and distributed the books, clothing, shoes, etc to Villa 16, Mwatate and the neighboring Msorongo community.
Mission accomplished before I left
Thank you again to everyone for making this dream a reality.
I am currently working on the newsletter and will post it once completed.
Asante Sana
My Birthday Party
I spent my birthday with the children from Villa 16, Mwatate Home and the nearby Lumo community
It was magical watching the kids running around and playing without a care in the world
We had lots of food, the meat was delicious, almost everyone had second helping.
The black forest cake was delicious. Then everyone received a bag of goodies to take home.
I think the kids will remember this day for a long time and so will I.
The crates arrived intact and all items were distributed
The crates arrived at the hotel on Aug 29th. We sorted late into the night, then started distributing to the homes and the community on Friday Aug 30th. We finished distribution on Sunday Sept 1st
